The Society

"The International Eosinophil Society is an organization of scientists and clinicians interested in the eosinophil, a blood cell strongly associated with many diseases. The society sponsors biennial meetings to review new information about the eosinophil and its roles in health and disease. "

The International Eosinophil Society (IES) has been established to bring together scientists around the world who are engaged in research in the field of
Eosinophil Biology and Eosinophil Disorders with a view to facilitating exchange of ideas and information about this fascinating inflammatory cell type and its role in diseases.

Eosinophil Biology

Discussions will cover all aspects of eosinophil biology, ranging from mechanisms regulating their development and differentiation to their function and activation both in vitro and in vivo. They will focus on both cellular responses as well as the function of eosinophil products and include their regulation by pharmacological agents.

Eosinophil Disorders

The IES provides a framework for discussing research regarding eosinophil disorders. In order to facilitate the optimal exchange of ideas regarding rare eosinophil diseases, the biannual IES meetings are now partnered with the meeting of the American Partnership for Eosinophilic disorders (APFED).
